Features:
Builds lists for exchange, needs and offers, etc.
Sorts by SuDoc
Lists are browsable

Limitations:
Primitive Interface
Only one list can be run at a time
Only one record can be viewed at a time
SuDoc and title fields have limited number of characters

Documents Assistant
Kensington Software

Software Requirements:
MS DOS 2.0 or higher

Features:
Maintains shelf list of documents in the weeding process
Allows notation for location or box number
Create offers lists that can be printed by SuDoc, date, agency, or location
Lists are browsable
Can import data that is in ASCII text

Limitations:
Primitive interface
SuDoc and title fields have limited number of characters
Shuts down if too many lists run at one time

DeckList
Folland Software

Software Requirements:
MD DOS 6.0

Features:
Builds database of items in collection
Downloads Shipping Lists from DECK shelf list disk
Provides for manual data entry
Searchable by item number, SuDoc number, title, shipping list number, and uses boolean operators
Sorts in SuDoc order
Database is browsable
Prints lists according to different parameters (ex. Time period, alphabetical order, SuDoc order, etc.)
Allows for location code
Maintains several databases at one time
Allows for read only mode
Creates a text file that can be used to print labels

Limitations:
To be fully utilized, requires extra expenditures for DECK shelf list disk
Can view only one record at a time

Features:
Downloads shipping lists from GPO Access
Filters shipping lists through depository’s selection profile
Creates statistics of items selected
Creates text files that can be used for creating labels
Creates dbf files that can be used for maintaining shelf lists
Searches processed shipping lists
Makes note of items needing special handling

Limitations:
Does not sort by SuDoc
Has no way to note items not received

AutoDocs

Software Requirements:
Microsoft Access 97 or 2000

Features:
Downloads shipping lists unique to a depository’s selection profile
Checks in paper items without shipping lists
Allows for individual check in of items, so that items not received may be removed from the shelf list
Makes notes of items that require special handling
Makes note of items that are superseded
Sorts by SuDoc (SuDS is built into the program)
Creates an integrated shelf list searchable by SuDoc number, date, title keyword or phrase, item number, format, and Boolean And. Search results can be printed
'Public mode' available for searching by the general public

Limitations:
Does not allow for microfiche without shipping lists
The system is not built to recognize serial records as such
Requires separate download of shipping lists from GPO Access
